「気候変動について今伝えたい、10の重要なメッセージ」2022年版

1. 国際的な研究者ネットワーク、フューチャー・アースによる今年の報告書（“10 New Insights in Climate Science”）は、気候変動と、紛争、パンデミック、食糧危機、根本的な開発課題など、他のリスク要因との相互作用の複雑さを強調し、明らかにした。この出版物の目的は、交渉担当者、政策立案者、その他の関係者のために、今後の行動を支援するための分析と提言を提供することである。

本報告書は、パートナー3団体の貢献で、広範な研究ネットワークとの広範かつ専門的な協議によって制作されました。

Future Earth: 10 New Insights in Climate Science 2022

【Main Points】

1. This year, the authors of Future Earth’s “10 New Insights in Climate Science” emphasize and unpack the complex interactions between climate change and other drivers of risk, such as conflicts, pandemics, food crises and underlying development challenges. The purpose of the publication is to highlight implications and recommendations in support of a way forward for negotiators, policymakers and other relevant actors.

2. Mobilizing private finance to align with sustainable activities is a crucial step towards decarbonizing the economy. Unfortunately, the so-called sustainable practices in the private finance sector are not yet catalyzing the deep and rapid transformations needed to meet climate targets (Insight 7).

3. Figure 7 in the Insight 10 shows 6 transformative interventions to replace the resource intensive economy and move towards low carbon development.

The 10 New Insights in Climate Science series is an annual synthesis highlighting the latest important advances in climate change research with high policy relevance across the natural and social sciences, produced jointly by Future Earth, Earth League, and the World Climate Research Program (WCRP). This influential policy report has been presented at the UNFCCC COP (Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) every year since 2017. Underpinning this report is the contributions gathered through extensive and expert consultations with the broad research networks of the three partner organizations.
